STEPS into Leadership
LEARNING LEADERS a Strategy for Teacher Professional learning https://www.education-ni.gov.uk/publications/teaching-professional-learning-strategy outlines an ongoing commitment to Building Leadership Capacity through strengthening the current support and professional learning for school leaders.
The Steps into Leadership Programme has been further developed to support this commitment by enabling middle leaders to extend their professional knowledge and understanding of leadership, management and to develop the skills required to work effectively at a whole school level.
The programme is suitable for newly appointed middle leaders or those who have been in a middle leader post for less than 3 years.
You must have the support and permission of your principal to attend
We will be running five regional cohorts this year based in the following four venues:
- North West Teachers’ Centre
- Omagh Technology Centre
- Newry Teachers’ Centre
- Antrim EA Centre
- Dundonald EA Centre
The programme will consist of 5 full days beginning in November 2018 and concluding in April 2019. Please be advised substitute cover is not available for this programme. Numbers will be capped in each of the centres so if one venue is full it might be worthwhile applying to register in another venue.
In the first instance we would invite you to register for the programme. More detailed course information will be available in September.
