AIMS:

To provide newly appointed, specialist setting school staff with a knowledge and understanding of how to set up a Specialist Provision in Mainstream (SPiM) Classroom to support meeting the needs of the pupils.


Physical Structure
1. How to develop, label and organise clearly denoted areas within your classroom,
2. Understand how the physical structure can be adapted for your classroom,
3. How to reduce distractibility within your classroom to support your pupils,
4.  To gain knowledge of furniture suggestions for your classroom and guidance on sourcing these.
 
Visual Timetables
1. To develop an understanding of visual timetables and the benefit for pupils,
2. How to develop a pupil individual timetable using 5 steps,
3. Develop an understanding of the range and progression of individual timetables that may be required in your classroom to meet individual pupil needs.


Activity Systems 
1. To develop an understanding of activity systems and the benefit for pupils,
2. How to develop an activity system using 4 steps,
3. Develop an understanding of the range and progression of activity system that may be required in your classroom to meet individual pupil needs,
4. How to generalise an activity system to promote functional life skills.
