Aims:

  • To highlight some of the benefits of inclusion for young people with Down syndrome in post primary mainstream settings.
  • To provide an overview of supporting inclusion for young people with down syndrome in post primary mainstream settings.
  • To highlight some of the characteristic difficulties young people with down syndrome have in relation to learning.
  • To provide practical classroom strategies that can be implemented in order to overcome barriers to learning for young people with Down syndrome.
