Aims:

  •  Enable school staff to use a range of Strategies and resources to promote inclusion of children and young people with a Statement of SEN for Social, Behavioural, Emotional and Wellbeing needs.
  • Understand the needs of children and young people with a Statement of SEN for Social, Behavioural, Emotional and Wellbeing (SBEW) needs. Learning outcomes:

Session 1

  • Explore strategies which can be used to develop positive relationships with pupils who have SBEW needs and develop a culture of listening to the child’s voice.

Session 2

  • Understand the importance of resilience development for pupils with SBEW needs. Identity effective practice which will nurture the development of resilience for pupils with SBEW needs.

Session 3

  • Identity the skills, support and strategies that can be used to nurture belonging, raise self-awareness and to reduce tension for pupils with SBEW needs.
  • Understanding of and monitoring of outcomes for pupils with SEN.

Course Details:

Each individual member of staff attending should complete an individual registration.

Registration for the first session in the course will automatically register the applicant for the subsequent sessions in the set.

PLEASE NOTE: This training takes place online using MS Teams on 3 separate days. Partipants must attend ALL THREE dates in the applicable set of sessions.

Sessions and times are as follows:

Tuesday 26th September 2023, Tuesday 3rd October 2023, and Tuesday 10th October 2023  Time: 11:00am – 12:30pm (each date)

Wednesday 15th November 2023, Wednesday 22nd November 2023 and Wednesday 29th November 2023 Time: 2:00pm – 3:30pm (each date)

Tuesday 16th January 2024, Tuesday 23th January 2024 and Tuesday 30th January 2024 Time: 11:00am – 12:30pm (each date)

Tuesday 5th March 2024, Tuesday 12th March 2024 and Tuesday 19th March 2024 Time: 2:00pm – 3:30pm (each date)

Wednesday 8th May 2024, Wednesday 15th May 2024 and Wednesday 22th May 2024  Time :11:00am – 12:30pm (each date)
